Martina loses to Venus in Warsaw:(

Martina lost against Venus Williams at the J&P Cup in Warsaw yesterday in a tough match with a result of 6-4 5-7 4-6. It was their first meeting in almost 4 years. Martina was doing great in the first and even the second set but somewhere towards the end of set 2 she seemed to lose concentration.

And got distracted with Venus's constant leg cramps. Well that's just my opinion, I certainly would lol. No she lost her concentration due to a bad line call. A lot of people would of course say that her serve is still too week that she 's missing this or that but I just think she was having an off day.

Venus had a better one but I honestly don't think Venus is such a great player I haven't seen her play well in a couple of years at least. But then again I don't really follow her career all that much.

And also to be fair this was Martina's first time playing on clay in four years so hopefully she'll improve the more she plays on it.

At least now she has a couple of days off to prepare for the German Open which starts on Monday May 8th. After that she's off to Rome for the Italian Open May 15th.

Martina's clay season off to a good start

Martina fought off a tough 2 setter against Kirilenko 7-5 7-6

Martina Hingis played at the J&P Cup today in Warsaw, Poland and won in a very tough match against Russian Maria Kirilenko.

Next she will be playing Venus Williams. I don't expect her to have any problems there. Martina entered this tournament in preparation for the French Open later this month.

This is her only missing grand slam title so I wish her the best of luck in the coming weeks. I hope she wins this one and gets in some more clay practice at the German Open on May 6th.

Who knows?. This could be the year that she wins the French Open. If there's one thing that I have learned about this player is to never count her out.

This girl never stops, she's like the energizer bunny just keeps going and going lol. But that's what I like about her, at the rate she's going she'll be back in the #1 spot in no time flat. :)

Martina Hingis to Play in Warsaw Poland!!

Martina has entered a Tier II event in Warsaw, Poland starting May 1st 2006. Darn it this is another one of those times I wish I was back in my home country lol. Apparently she has entered them in the past but of course I had no clue lol.

Also I found a Polish Martina Hingis Message board it looks like it has just been started but, so far looks good so check it out I added a link to it on my blog:). So all the Polish Martina Hingis enthusiasts flock on over there!. :)
