New releases this week

The 5th and final season of "Alias" comes out today. Been a long time coming too!. Hope it's filled with some good extras.

In the music world there's American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry's debut album. I took a listen to it on AOL and I thought it sounded great. A lot of people are saying he sounds like Chad from Nickelback. I think there might be a slight resemblance but he definitely has his own style and some good old fashioned rock tunes.

What's good in dvds and music this week

Starting with some 90's nostalgia, yes I'm talking about 90210. The first season is out on DVD today. I'm actually really surprised it took them so long.

And yes, I will admit this right off the bat I was a 90210 fan back in the day. It was a guilty pleasure. Watched the darn thing for all 10 seasons lol.

In terms some good music this week there's Josh Groban's new album "Awake" which I've had the pleasure of checking out courtesy of AOL's Full CD Listening Party. And I gotta say I really liked it, planning on running out and getting myself a copy. Some songs I really like from this album are "Don't Give Up", "Now or Never", "Weeping" and "In Her Eyes". Can't go wrong with a voice like his.

What's good in music this week

Well the new Evanescence album "The Open Door" comes out today, I have listened to it courtesy of the AOL Full CD Listening Party.

And I have to say it is a really good album but not as good as their debut. My favourite songs are "Call Me When You're Sober" and "Weight of the World". I also like "All That I'm Living For" and "Lithium". For those of you who haven't heard it yet, you can listen to it on AOL's Listening Party:

The album will only be available for listening till this Monday, after that the album selection changes to whatever happens to come out that week.

Anyways go take a listen if you haven't already got it, and judge for yourselves;).

Music done by the stars

Yes I mean Hollywood stars. This week courtesy of AOL's Listening Party I've had the opportunity to listen to a benefit cd called Unexpected Dreams: Songs from the Stars. Which is a collection of lullabies sang by Hollywood actors. And it's really not bad there are a lot of surprising artists on it that I never knew could sing.

Among the most surprising are people like Jennifer Garner (Alias), Victor Garber (Alias), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Seinfield), Jeremy Irons, Ewan McGregor and Teri Hatcher just to name a few.

But the best one of them all and my favorite is Lucy Lawless's (Xena) song called"Little Child".

Damn the woman can sing!. But of course I already knew that:D. Anyway for anyone who wants to check it out it will be available for listening only until this Monday.

Then on Tuesday the selection changes and new Listening Parties are posted.
