Ricki & Derek kicked things off for the last time with their most memorable dance (and choreography) the "Psycho" inspired Tango.
The call back to this dance was unsurprisingly loved by all. Bruno called it an unforgettable grand cinematic extravaganza.
Carrie Ann thought it was perfect the first time and beyond perfect the 2nd.
Gotta say this one does stand out in the way that season 5 Helio Castroneves "Mask" inspired one still sticks in my mind all these years later.
Dance choreography and performance at it's best.
30 points were added to their overall score from last night for a grand total of 84. Sadly despite earning the highest score Ricki fell short of the final coming in 3rd place.
Which to me was the wrong choice because really out of the remaining 3 Ricki and J.R. were the better dancers in comparison to Rob.
But oh well, an awesomely valiant effort nonetheless. An absolute delight to watch week in week out. Thanks Ricki! :)
Rob & Cheryl were up next with their reprise of the Foxtrot. Bruno reiterated that he's improved beyond everyone's expectations. Calling him smooth and suave.
Carrie Ann loved how things look so easy for him at this stage. Len said he possessed the best foot work of any guy in the history of the show. Really Len?, really?.
I recall him saying the same thing in regards to Hines Ward (who I believe was dancing with Kim Johnson) last year. 26 was their score a grand total of 83 points.
J.R. & Karina reprised their Jive (which they performed all the way back in week 2).
Taking out the lift and Lindy Hop which Carrie Ann and Len complained about.
Carrie Ann loved the way J.R. has been the catalyst for joy. Len added that he lights up the room each time.
Bruno called it energetic fast paced fun, fun, fun. Agreed. His exuberant joy on the dance floor is infectious. 28 was the score added to their overall total of 82.
As always the show also featured the return of all the celebs from this season, but I won't bother recapping any of that.
Other then to say I loved seeing Lacey & Chaz shake their groove with Lacey's dad to boot!.
Definite highlight.
Rob & Cheryl and J.R. Karina battled it out for the trophy with an Instant Samba to Ricki Martin's "Shake Your Bon Bon". That they did.
As with all the final scores both couples got a perfect 30. No big surprise there.
In the end Rob & Cheryl had a final score of 113 and J.R. and Karina were just one point behind with 112.
In the end it was Mr. charismatic himself J.R. Martinez who became to new champ of Dancing with the Stars season 13.
Congrats to them both!. So nice to see a different pro lift that Mirrorball trophy. Been a while. A well earned win.

DWTS 13: The Finals part 1
And then there were 3.
Ricki & Derek were up first with a sexy Cha Cha. Len found it action packed with good timing and rhythm.
And although he wanted more hip action it was a dance worthy of the finals. Bruno said she's never been hotter. Carrie Ann said she was living the dance.
I thought it was quite good, but I have seen better. Maybe it's because the show has been on for so long there's only so much originality one can put into a routine and Derek has won the thing 3 times.
I just wasn't jumping out of my seat with excitement as I have in the past. Still an excellent performance. I guess it was a bit under par for the judges as well because they give a 27/30.
They received identical scores for their free style. Which Len found fun and entertaining, despite a not so perfect Quickstep. Bruno enjoyed Ricki's explosive entrance onto the dance floor.
Carrie loved the effortless lifts. I tend to agree with a little bit of everything from the judges it was a really great number and the lifts were wonderfully done, but as I mentioned in their first dance something was missing (I think the choreography was a bit lackluster this time).
Needless to say I was a bit disappointed.
Sorry Derek that's what you get when you're damn near perfect 3 years in a row. Their overall total was 54/60.
Rob &Cheryl danced the Waltz. Which Bruno thought was full of expression, and he loved the continuity of lines. Carrie Ann thought he looked like the male Cinderella.
Len thought he lost posture a few times but the simplicity of it was beautiful. 27/30 (popular score tonight). I thought it was pretty decent myself, he's certainly proven he's 10 times the dancer his sister never was.
Their free style was up next. Bruno loved the brilliant content and execution. Carrie Ann was simply blown away.
Again I thought it was alright but nothing spectacular. They performed the exact same lifts as Ricki and Derek, so I didn't see anything outstanding content wise.
Not really sure they deserved a perfect score but whatever. 30/30 it was making their grand total 57/60 putting them in first place. WTF. Again I say whatever.
J.R. & Karina did a Cha Cha that received mixed reviews from the judges. Carrie Ann thought he was off musically and warned him to watch his arms.
Len and Bruno on the other hand both agreed his enthusiasm got the better of him making him attack it a little too hard making the whole thing fall apart in the process.
I agree that it wasn't perfect but I don't think it was as bad as they deemed it to be I would have given them a bit higher then 24/30.
But no worries because they redeemed themselves with the free style.
Which was pretty damn good. Carrie Ann was so impressed with the lifts she used the word 'sick'. I don't think I've ever heard her use that term in all the years I've been watching.
Len thought the dance revealed 2 things Karina's body and J.R.'s talent. Bruno was equally enthralled calling it a brilliant comeback.
I must say Karina certainly took some risks with pretty crazy lifts. It payed off I think, made it look different then the rest of the routines. I loved it.
Definitely deserving of a perfect score tying them with Ricki and Derek 54/60.
I'm split on who I want to win the Mirror Ball this season. Although I love Ricki & Derek, I'm kind of leaning toward J.R. & Karina (not just because of his inspiring story) but because I think he really deserves it.

DWTS 13: Week 8 Semi-Finals
And then there were 4. All the couples had a tough test ahead of them this week doing 2 individual dances and a Cha Cha Relay at the end.
So of course some stars suffered a few unfortunate injuries, more on that later.
Hope & Maks started the night off with the Paso Doble. Len thought it had the right attitude and aggression, but within that lost control and finesse. Bruno agreed saying the dance lost it's artistry.
Carrie Ann thought Hope nailed the character, but lost the grace and fluidity of the dance 21/30 was their first set of scores.
I thought it was a good dance as Paso's go, but I agree with the judges assessments wholeheartedly. Hope was suffering some shoulder pain for which she received some meds, so as a result it didn't hinder her as much.
Next it was time for them to do the Argentine Tango (one of my personal faves) performed by all couples. Len found it better then her Paso, liked the clean lifts and amount of content.
Bruno found it sexy, full of athleticism with more control. Carrie Ann didn't find the lifts quite as clean as Len but appreciated the ambition behind them. 24/30
45/60 overall for 2 dances put them in last place. I won't be shocked if they are the ones who head home.
J.R. & Karina danced a Zorro-styled Paso Doble that due to his twisted ankle wasn't quite as good as it could have been. Bruno felt the thrill and excitement of the routine, but pointed out the posture wasn't right.
Carrie Ann agreed saying she credits him for attacking it with such vigor, but the injury did indeed effect his posture, and overall movement (in my opinion).
And although she sympathized with him she still had to score him on content alone. But she hoped he would redeem himself with the second dance.
Len just thought the dance didn't suit him. Sadly I once again have to agree with all of it. It's really unfortunate that the injury happened at the most crucial time.
Because otherwise he'd be beating Rob's butt left and right. 23/30 was the score (possibly his lowest since the start).
The Argentine Tango was up next. Bruno was impressed with the technical difficulty and execution of the lifts calling him a strong fearless Latin lover.
Len found the mood and intensity to be spot on. Also saying it was way better then his first dance.
I gotta say at the end of that dance the poor guy looked like he was in some real pain. I hope the audience overlooks this week and gives him a chance at the finals tomorrow.
It just wouldn't be the same competition-wise without him there. I like Rob and all but I think J.R. deserves it more being the more consistent and impressive one throughout. 27/30 was the total for an over all score of 50/60.
Rob & Cheryl danced the Samba that all the judges found "bootylicious". Carrie couldn't stop raving about it. Calling his rhythm fantastic. Even Len liked it despite the fact they started it on a float.
Saying once he got on the dance floor it was all good. 28/30 (a first 10 from Carrie Ann).
I thought it was alright didn't blow me away, or anything not sure I would have given them quite as high of a score but whatever. His Argentine Tango was next.
Carrie Ann called his dancing strong. Len said it's not where you start but where you finish and he was also of the opinion he finished strong.
Bruno also commented on his progress from goofy guy hiding behind Cheryl to leading man. 27/30 for an overall score of 55/60 putting them in second place (really?!).
Ricki & Derek danced a fun and energetic Samba. Len put it best when he described it using one word. Fabulous. Indeed.
And I also agree I think they secured themselves a spot in the finals with this dance. Bruno called it sizzling hot and brilliant from beginning to end. Carrie Ann complemented her on her shoulder improvement from last week.
I can't remember if I have mentioned how much I love watching these 2 dance this season so I'll say it now. I love watching them dance!.
Pure joy on the dance floor. Derek continues to have an innate ability to bring out the best out of everyone he dances with. Kudos.

DWTS 13: Week 7 Quickstep, Jive, Tango & Waltz
Rob & Cheryl Quickstep to A-Ha's "Take on Me" took me right back to 80's week.
Len thought it started out bad, but got better as they got back in hold.
Bruno thought it was an incredible improvement and seemed impressed with his line and frame. Carrie Ann called him an ideal contestant who didn't start out great, but has shown gradual improvement week to week.
Alright Rob, you've convinced me you're a decent dancer I'll give you that, and if anyone gets to stay for the semi-finals you definitely deserve a spot. He received his highest scores of the competition 27/30.
Aside from their regular routines tonight everyone also had to perform the Instant Jive (without prior knowledge of the song they will dance to).
Rob & Cheryl's Instant Jive was to Hall and Oats "Meneater" (again with the 80's!). The judges were in agreement wanting more flicks and kicks. 24/30 was added to their total giving a combined score of 51/60.
Hope & Maks Maks took a gentler approach in rehearsals this week and it seemed to have paid off. Hope did a very nice Quickstep set to Amy Whinehouse "Valerie".
Both Bruno and Len called it her best dance yet. Carrie Ann loved seeing them in sync and finally seeing the joy and fun.
27/30 (the judges seemed very generous with the paddles tonight). And Len must be back on his medication again because he was unusually happy for the first time in weeks.
They Instant Jived to Avril Lavigne's "Best Damn Thing".
While Len found it fantastic and everything a Jive should be Carrie Ann and Bruno took issue with the placement of her "crazy" hands.
Which lowered their score somewhat, but still tied them with Ricki and Derek for 2nd place with 25/30 and a combined 52/60.
I thought this jive was 100 times better then her first one, good to see she's finally learned to relax and enjoy herself on the floor.
Ricki & Derek were up next with a Waltz to Aretha Franklin's "You Make Me Feel". All the judges praised her beautiful execution and exquisite movement.
Carrie Ann loved the way she lost herself in the dance (I think Carrie Ann might have given her a 10 as well if not for a small slip up with her foot).
Len wants to give her a 10 but feels her footwork is not quite there yet. Bruno called it deliciously dreamy. 28/30 was their total (the highest for the first dance).
Instant Jive all the judges liked the way she got right back into the dance despite a few stops and starts and the difficult choreography.
24/30 for a combined 52/60. I thought despite Ricki's own assessment of the dance (not being good enough) it was really well done.
Nancy & Tristan did a Tango to "The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane" by The Ames Brothers.
I feel for the poor guy having to deal with her 7 days a week for 8 hours. With each passing week he seems more and more frustrated. Len thought she climbed up from her past plateau performances.
Carrie Ann found it better then last week despite a small slip up, but still wanted more pointed toes. 24/30
After her Instant Jive once again Len and I were in complete agreement it is time for her to go home already. (if she actually makes it to next week I will scream).
Even Carrie Ann agreed saying she completely lost her choreography. 20/30 for a combined 44/60 (lowest of the night).
J.R. & Karina stole the night with superb and superior performances throughout. First up was a lovely romantic Waltz to "What the World Needs Now" by Burt Bacharach . Bruno called it a musical valentine's card saying he and Karina make beautiful music together.
During his Instant Jive it was more of the same the judges raved about his fantastic performance.
Carrie Ann phrased it best when she said he was in a class all of his own a well deserved perfect score of 60/60 for both dances to finish off the evening.

DWTS 13: Week 7 Halloween
This was definitely an interesting night, very fun overall especially toward the end.
David & Kym were up first with a Cha Cha to "Abracadabra" Len thought he turned into a dancer, would have liked a little more rhythm. Carrie Ann called his improvement phenomenal.
24/30 (point higher then last week). I thought his performance this week was much better comparatively as well.
J.R. & Karina danced a Tango to "Ghostbusters" theme. Bruno thought it was solid, but lost timing and sync.
Carrie Ann on the other hand found it precise and sharp and thought they captured the tone of the piece. Overall great performance.
Len called it substandard saying it was his own fault for setting the bar high over the past several weeks.
I have to side with him on that one while it was a great performance it lacked a little something this week. 25/30 (their lowest score since the start I think).
Nancy & Tristan Jived to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" Carrie Ann didn't like her performance this week thought she lost the choreography.
Pointing out that while some styles suit a dancer perfectly some really don't.
Len was disappointed as well, he thought the kicks weren't sharp enough and that the dance generally didn't suit her. It just looked like a bad Irish jig to me.
With 21/30 (they were on the bottom of the judges leader board this week). And personally I'm really hoping she finally goes home (especially since Rob was a lot more convincing).
Rob & Cheryl danced an "Adam's Family" theme Tango. Len actually loved it, saying he had terrific footwork.
Bruno loved the way he led Cheryl with conviction, but he would like him to tuck his butt in :D. Carrie Ann called it his best dance so far.
As much as I honestly could care less about the guy, I have to give him props this week.

Ricki & Derek Paso Doble Bruno thought it was an incredible performance calling it a blizzard of passion and fear. Both Len and Carrie Ann thought her shapes were beautiful.
Len loved her sharp footwork in particular.
They both also pointed out she should watch her shoulders, but knew it was probably only a hindrance because of her painful rib injury (she moved pretty darn well to me!). 27/30 put them back on top of the score board once more.
I really loved the sharpness, quickness and aggressiveness of her movements in the dance (all key ingredients in a Paso). Very well executed.
Hope & Maks Len thought she coped well with a very difficult dance.
Bruno thought she had better timing, placement and finish. Carrie Ann loved the lightness/ease to her movement (something she had previously been missing).
Personally I think the judges were being extra nice, perhaps a little overly cautious with their comments because of the fiasco with Maks last week.
Either way better performance for sure (she's making some nice progress) a well deserved 24/30.
Next it was time for the group number again ( I forgot to mention they did one last week as well). But I enjoyed this one so much more.
Team Tango consisted of Kym & David, Nancy & Tristan, and J.R. & Karina all dancing to Rihanna's "Disturbia"

Len called it substandard saying it was his own fault for setting the bar high over the past several weeks.
I have to side with him on that one while it was a great performance it lacked a little something this week. 25/30 (their lowest score since the start I think).
Nancy & Tristan Jived to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" Carrie Ann didn't like her performance this week thought she lost the choreography.
Pointing out that while some styles suit a dancer perfectly some really don't.
Len was disappointed as well, he thought the kicks weren't sharp enough and that the dance generally didn't suit her. It just looked like a bad Irish jig to me.
With 21/30 (they were on the bottom of the judges leader board this week). And personally I'm really hoping she finally goes home (especially since Rob was a lot more convincing).
Rob & Cheryl danced an "Adam's Family" theme Tango. Len actually loved it, saying he had terrific footwork.
Bruno loved the way he led Cheryl with conviction, but he would like him to tuck his butt in :D. Carrie Ann called it his best dance so far.

DWTS 13: Week 6 Broadway Songs
Well, we are past the half-way point which means some people really upped their game and some really fell flat.
Rob & Cheryl were up first tonight with a Cha-Cha to Jersey Boys "Walk Like a Man".
Len said it was clean, precise and had good timing. But didn't show rhythm, and came off looking stiff.
Bruno found it adequate but thought it didn't have the impact it should have at this stage.
Carrie Ann said it wasn't as good as last week, but she saw more charisma then ever before. She did agree with Len that it should have had a bit more pop to it.
I still honestly don't like the guy, and could care less whether he stays, or goes. But I have to give credit where credit is due, he is clearly working his butt off, and Cheryl's teaching methods seem to be paying off.
He actually looked even more convincing then last week. Based on this performance I think he'll stick around for at least 1 more week. 22/30 was their total.
Nancy & Tristan danced a Foxtrot to Spamelot's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life". Bruno thought she captured the feel of the play and yet still managed to make it look like a Foxtrot (I gotta agree, certainly had the right energy).
Len liked that she showed more of her personality, but didn't think the hold was proper. Carrie Ann thought she showed her all the things she was asking for last week. 24/30 was their total (highest for her in the competition).
Something tells me despite my continued desire for her to go away already, she'll probably stick around till next week.
David & Kym danced a Quickstep to "We Go Together" from Grease.
Carrie Ann said it lived up to any expectations she may have had, but found that they were out of sync at times in their routine. When they were in sync she thought they had great fluidity.
Len found the whole thing a bit rough, saying David's enthusiasm got the best of him. Bruno thought he danced like "a frisky teenager on spring break". HA.
Well it certainly looked like it :D. I tend to agree with Len more I think his excitement kind of overshadowed his dancing this week. But I think he was solid enough to stay. 23/30 total points.
Ricki & Derek also did a Quickstep to Guys & Dolls "Luck Be a Lady".
Len didn't think she needed any luck because she's got the talent. And although he loved it he got nit-picky and give it a 9.
Bruno thought it had impeccable style and showmanship, and as always outstanding choreography.
He also mentioned that the music interpretation was beyond belief. Carrie Ann found it sharp, precise everything a broadway number should be.
Carrie Ann and Bruno both give Ricki a standing ovation so it was no surprise that they were back on top this week with a near perfect 29/30.
This was another masterclass courtesy of Derek Hough's choreography. Carrie Ann is right these 2 truly are amazing as a team, and an absolute joy to watch.
Chaz & Lacey danced a Tango to "Phantom of the Opera". Carrie Ann still wants more content at this stage. But thought he had the right attitude for the dance.
While Bruno and Len thought it didn't have the right intensity and aggression.
Len also thought the hold should have been tighter, but said he can see all the work being put in, and appreciates the effort. They both agreed that this character didn't fit his personality at all. 19/30 was the total.
I'm gonna have to side with Len and Bruno it was a valiant effort (dance-wise) but the character didn't help to enhance the routine one bit.

DWTS 13: Week 5 80's Week
I had a lot of fun last week, but being an 80's child this pretty much tops last week. Ah, nostalgia.... anyway on to the dancing.
Hope & Maks Tango to Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" a personal fave. Len found it too loose linked, and saw lack of control.
Bruno on the other hand thought the opposite to him it was strong sexy and powerful. Carrie Ann agreed with both saying that Hope needs to learn that less is more.
I found the whole thing a bit weird the love/hate tension element was there (given these 2 don't exactly get along most the time) but that's pretty much it really.
One minute she was being controlling and dominant the next Maks was dragging her around the floor. The whole thing didn't balance well partnership wise. The score was decent though 24/30.
Carson & Anna Jive to Wham's "Jitterbug" complete with cheer leader outfits and pom poms. Bruno summed it up best loopier then looney tunes, the crowning achievement in madness lol.
Carrie Ann still enjoyed the fun aspect of it but expected more technique this being the halfway point of the competition.
I tend to agree with both judges.
While I'm still enjoying his presence immensely from an entertainment value stand point, we are in week 5 and it's time to start separating/booting the weaker dancers in favor of the ones with more skill and talent 19/30 was their total.
Sorry Carson but I think it's time for you to go (entertainment can only get you so far).
Nancy & Tristan Rumba set to an 80's staple Spandau Ballet's "True". Carrie Ann wants to see real passion and connection. Bruno thought it was sensuous, sexy and not slutty.
Len found it simple and effective done with ease and elegance. I thought it was not bad, I'll give her points for continuing to make an effort and somehow pulling it off.
Although at times during the dance it kind of looked like she was going through the motions of her routine. So I'm still hoping she gets the boot soon too. 22/30 was the score.
J.R. & Karina shook their stuff in a Samba to Gloria Estefan's Miami Sound Machine "Conga" that brought the ballroom on their feet in another ovation.
The audience and judges alike were mesmerized, the dance put them on top of the leader board for the first time in 3 weeks with 28/30.
Shake that groove thing! was pretty much the only thought going through my head while watching the dance. Nicely done indeed.
Rob & Cheryl Rumba set to Lionel Richie's "Hello". Bruno thought Rob looked like a dancing partner for the first time (like they were part of one unit).
He called it a sentimental performance. Carrie Ann found it sexy and liked the control element to the dance. Len thought he pulled it off not allowing Cheryl to lead him, but being in command of her instead.
Which I must give him points for as well. Having said that do I think he deserves a spot in the top 3? not by a long shot at this point.
But it's like Len said in his taped commentary with this dance he at least became a contender and not a pretender. Earning his highest score thus far 25/30.

So great to see Chaz really cutting loose and having fun again. And even making an effort technique and step-wise. Well done. Score same as last week 21/30
David & Kym Tango to Soft Cell's "Tainted Love". Len wasn't impressed with his hold but loved the 80's feel. Carrie Ann thought he needs to work on his musicality, but still sees him as a contender.
I thought it was a nice aggressive Tango, could have used a bit more of the hate you/love you push and pull element. But a solid effort overall. 25/30 his highest score so far.
Ricki & Derek Foxtrot to Phil Collins "Easy Lover".
I just have to say this Derek was freakin' adorkable in his 80's outfit! ♥♥♥
Len thought the footwork was hit and miss, and the hold wasn't perfect.
Carrie Ann wished they'd stayed in hold because they're amazing as a team & without that Ricky really lost her timing.
Well nobody is perfect having been at the top for 3 weeks straight they had to have a week off some time. Perhaps the pressure got to Ricky a little bit.
Personally I agree with Derek that music didn't go well with the Foxtrot at all no wonder it really threw them off. 24/30 is still nothing to cry about though but the fans will have to get voting.

DWTS 13: Week 4 Movie Score Themes
First off sorry for the lack of re-cap last week, just didn't have much to say about it. I did make a few notes that I might incorporate into this week.
Oh, and while I was ecstatic that Lacey and Chaz got to stay Mark & Kirsten's elimination was shockingly unexpected.
I guess people were really turned off by her sexy Samba. Usually that tends to have a positive effect. Whatever the reason I don't think they deserved it.
I'm a huge fan of movie scores and t.v. scores in general so I always find this night to be one of the most fun, this one was no exception.
Chynna & Tony "Mission Impossible" inspired Tango complete with the drop from the ceiling via harness. I think Tony probably regrets that though, looks like he hurt himself a little.
Sadly Chynna blanked out on the plot along with her entire routine tonight. The judges were all in agreement on that front.
Though Carrie Ann thought what she did remember was spot on. I hope she gets another shot next week. I don't think she has had a chance to reach her full potential like something tells me she can just yet.
I have to commend Tony it had to be quite hard to choreograph a Tango of all things to this particular theme. He did the best with what he was given really. 21/30 isn't terrible so we'll see what happens.
David & Kym "Indiana Jones" Paso Doble was his best dance by far in the competition in my opinion.
Though the judges said that about last week. Carrie Ann and Bruno loved his work this week as well. Although Bruno pointed out David should watch his turns.
Len was not surprisingly unimpressed (it was kind of the theme of the night for him this week). I loved that he stayed in character through out, didn't freak out, or lose his place.
He looked confident, and like he knew what he was doing for the first time in the competition. 23/30 was their final score.
Carson & Anna danced a fun "Pirate's of the Caribbean" Viennese Waltz complete with Johnny Depp inspired look. I'm not sure whether there was more content in it this time, or how much of it was actually done correctly (which was the judges complaint last week).
Bruno thought it was a bit like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Carrie Ann thought this was Carson's most butch performance but like Bruno thought it was a bit up and down.
Len didn't see any footwork, or technique but found it to be great fun. In the end they found themselves at the very bottom of the leader board this week with 20/30.
Nancy & Tristan "Flash Gordon" Paso Doble (2nd weirdest song choice of the evening). Len found the dance competent, but saw zero excitement. Carrie Ann thought Nancy deserved more credit for her efforts (being the oldest contestant).
But that she needed to connect with the audience more which sort of went hand in hand with Bruno who mentioned she needed to get into her character more.
Honestly I'm over her being on the show. While I still commend her for doing a decent job with the dancing.
Personality and watch-ability wise she's just plain boring, so I'm hoping she goes home tomorrow. Although it could be Chynna and Tony instead. Final score 21/30
Hope & Maks "You Got a Friend" Toy Story inspired Foxtrot complete with Jessie and Woody costumes. Bruno found it lovely, Carrie Ann thought it was refreshing and made her smile all the way through.
Len was frustrated because he thinks she has potential to go all the way, but just isn't putting in the work. I tend to agree with him on this one.
Unless she starts applying herself more soon, she's going to go home if not this week then the next. 24/30 was their total.
Rob & Cheryl "Superman"/ Clark Kent Paso Doble. Carrie Ann seemed to rave about the fluidity of his movement (which I will give him points for) But aside from that I wasn't particularly impressed.
He lacked aggression and dominance 2 most important ingriediants in a Paso Doble. Len didn't mind it, but wanted more drama. Bruno said he had musicality, but needed to be more assertive.
Ricky & Derek "Psycho" inspired Tango. Carrie Ann said it best. Brilliance in the ballroom. This had to be the weirdest and hardest routine to choreograph in the history of the show.
And yet once again Derek showed why he's the king of masterful choreography. Len's earlier complaint about drama was certainly fulfilled.
His comment was pretty spot on too Derek is like the U.S. postal service and he certainly does deliver every time.
It's no surprise that they received the best score of the night (and the first 10's of the season).
A near perfect 29/30.
Chaz & Lacey "Rocky" Paso Doble. Just like the song Carrie Ann felt inspired and wanted to root for Chaz after it was over.
Just like the song he keeps fighting and getting stronger. Bruno thought it was his best dance to date.
I thought it was well done, brought back a lot of the exuberant joy that was missing from his Rumba last week. Better dance with a better score then last week as well 21/30.
J.R. & Karina "Pink Panther" Foxtrot was the 2nd best dance of the night. Len agreed said it was the best male dance with just the right amount of comedy and slapstick.
Carrie Ann found the performance flat (which was surprising).
Bruno found it fabulous, and was impressed with his ability to nail all styles of dancing. I gotta agree this guy has a real shot of making it all the way to the finals along with Ricki and Derek.
They got the 2nd highest score again 26/30.

I guess people were really turned off by her sexy Samba. Usually that tends to have a positive effect. Whatever the reason I don't think they deserved it.
I'm a huge fan of movie scores and t.v. scores in general so I always find this night to be one of the most fun, this one was no exception.
Chynna & Tony "Mission Impossible" inspired Tango complete with the drop from the ceiling via harness. I think Tony probably regrets that though, looks like he hurt himself a little.
Sadly Chynna blanked out on the plot along with her entire routine tonight. The judges were all in agreement on that front.
Though Carrie Ann thought what she did remember was spot on. I hope she gets another shot next week. I don't think she has had a chance to reach her full potential like something tells me she can just yet.
I have to commend Tony it had to be quite hard to choreograph a Tango of all things to this particular theme. He did the best with what he was given really. 21/30 isn't terrible so we'll see what happens.
David & Kym "Indiana Jones" Paso Doble was his best dance by far in the competition in my opinion.
Though the judges said that about last week. Carrie Ann and Bruno loved his work this week as well. Although Bruno pointed out David should watch his turns.
Len was not surprisingly unimpressed (it was kind of the theme of the night for him this week). I loved that he stayed in character through out, didn't freak out, or lose his place.
He looked confident, and like he knew what he was doing for the first time in the competition. 23/30 was their final score.
Carson & Anna danced a fun "Pirate's of the Caribbean" Viennese Waltz complete with Johnny Depp inspired look. I'm not sure whether there was more content in it this time, or how much of it was actually done correctly (which was the judges complaint last week).
Bruno thought it was a bit like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Carrie Ann thought this was Carson's most butch performance but like Bruno thought it was a bit up and down.
Len didn't see any footwork, or technique but found it to be great fun. In the end they found themselves at the very bottom of the leader board this week with 20/30.
Nancy & Tristan "Flash Gordon" Paso Doble (2nd weirdest song choice of the evening). Len found the dance competent, but saw zero excitement. Carrie Ann thought Nancy deserved more credit for her efforts (being the oldest contestant).
But that she needed to connect with the audience more which sort of went hand in hand with Bruno who mentioned she needed to get into her character more.
Honestly I'm over her being on the show. While I still commend her for doing a decent job with the dancing.
Personality and watch-ability wise she's just plain boring, so I'm hoping she goes home tomorrow. Although it could be Chynna and Tony instead. Final score 21/30
Hope & Maks "You Got a Friend" Toy Story inspired Foxtrot complete with Jessie and Woody costumes. Bruno found it lovely, Carrie Ann thought it was refreshing and made her smile all the way through.
Len was frustrated because he thinks she has potential to go all the way, but just isn't putting in the work. I tend to agree with him on this one.
Unless she starts applying herself more soon, she's going to go home if not this week then the next. 24/30 was their total.
Rob & Cheryl "Superman"/ Clark Kent Paso Doble. Carrie Ann seemed to rave about the fluidity of his movement (which I will give him points for) But aside from that I wasn't particularly impressed.
He lacked aggression and dominance 2 most important ingriediants in a Paso Doble. Len didn't mind it, but wanted more drama. Bruno said he had musicality, but needed to be more assertive.
Ricky & Derek "Psycho" inspired Tango. Carrie Ann said it best. Brilliance in the ballroom. This had to be the weirdest and hardest routine to choreograph in the history of the show.
And yet once again Derek showed why he's the king of masterful choreography. Len's earlier complaint about drama was certainly fulfilled.
His comment was pretty spot on too Derek is like the U.S. postal service and he certainly does deliver every time.
It's no surprise that they received the best score of the night (and the first 10's of the season).
A near perfect 29/30.
Chaz & Lacey "Rocky" Paso Doble. Just like the song Carrie Ann felt inspired and wanted to root for Chaz after it was over.
Just like the song he keeps fighting and getting stronger. Bruno thought it was his best dance to date.
I thought it was well done, brought back a lot of the exuberant joy that was missing from his Rumba last week. Better dance with a better score then last week as well 21/30.
J.R. & Karina "Pink Panther" Foxtrot was the 2nd best dance of the night. Len agreed said it was the best male dance with just the right amount of comedy and slapstick.
Carrie Ann found the performance flat (which was surprising).
Bruno found it fabulous, and was impressed with his ability to nail all styles of dancing. I gotta agree this guy has a real shot of making it all the way to the finals along with Ricki and Derek.
They got the 2nd highest score again 26/30.

DWTS 13: Week 2 Quick-step & Jive
As per usual I will for-go with the full names now that we're in week 2.
Less typing for me, if you wanna know exactly who the people are check out my post for week 1 ;).
Hope & Maks were up first tonight with the Jive. I disagree with Len who thought the kicks were sharp, looked like the opposite to me but whatever.
Both Bruno and Len pointed out that she lost her timing several times. Bruno stressed that she needs to apply herself and practice more which I agree with.
Obviously it can't be easy being a soccer player. But plenty of other contestants managed to juggle all their commitments and actually win the thing (so that excuse can only be used once imho).
I tend to agree with Carrie Ann the only thing I liked about her tonight was the performance side of the dance.
Potential is still there, but she needs to work a lot harder if she wants to go deep into the competition.
Or as Maks stated in the rehearsal footage they'll be gone by week 3. Btw. way to inspire your partner Maks! LOL. 19/30 was the final score.
Kristen & Mark danced a Marilyn Monroe inspired Quickstep complete with wig and dress. Bruno commented that she lost her frame and lines throughout.
Len thought the footwork could have been cleaner & her hold stronger. Bottom line the dance didn't look as good as she did. Can't say I disagree.
Really the whole first hour of the show tonight was filled with sub-par performances.
Things didn't start to take off until hour 2 with what I believe to be the real contenders and some surprises (more on that later). 22/30 a popular score for the night.
David & Kym were up next with another Jive. All judges thought that although more relaxed at times he was a bit too loose. Len thought he lacked technique. Carrie Ann thought he found his persona.
My general impression was although filled with plenty of exuberance and enthusiasm it kind of didn't feel like a Jive Bruno thought the same (might have something to do with the lack of quickness and snappy movements) that make the dance so fun to watch. 18/30 not the best score yet sadly not the worst.
Elisabetta & Val Quickstep one of the few times Len and I were in agreement. It was certainly better then last week.
Bruno encouraged her to keep working on it, stating she has what it takes. I'm not so sure.
I liked her in week 1 but tonight's bickering really made it seem like she really doesn't want to be there, or be bothered to put in the effort long term.
Carrie Ann thought Quickstep was her dance. Again not so much, but she may have done enough tonight to keep her around another week at least. 21/30
Rob & Cheryl Bruno thought his Jive was a great improvement over last week (yeah by pretty much leaps and bounds!). Len found him confident while Carrie Ann thought he was better then his sister Kim.
Which I personally wouldn't know didn't watch DWTS from the beginning. 21/30 again judges didn't really feel generous tonight.
I don't really like him (find him kind of boring in fact) entertainment wise, but he is another person who may have done enough to squeak by into next week.
Carson & Anna Carrie Ann found his Quick step wabbly but an improvement over last week as well.
While I agree with Bruno that he has a long way to go technically. Len put it best: on this show sometimes the worst dancers are the most fun to watch.
And that's what he is, entertainment to the fullest. 18/30 was their total. I hope he sticks around at least one more week.
Ricky & Derek one of my favourite couples was up next with a fun Jive that didn't disappoint. Carrie Ann called it the best one of the night. Len wanted a bit more content.
Bruno thought out of all the contestants she was the only one who did the kicks and flicks correctly.
Which certainly looked like it. I was quite impressed with how well she moved.
Older contestants always find the pace of the dance to be a real challenge. I thought she handled it well.
They became the score board leaders for the night with 23/30 Well deserved!.
There's a reason why Derek has 3 mirror ball trophies, the man knows how to teach;). Not to mention choreograph.
Chaz & Lacey Poor Chaz just couldn't make the Quickstep quite as quick due to some major knee pain:(. Despite that I thought he give a valiant effort nonetheless.
The judges were pretty much in agreement in terms of lack of speed. And although understanding and compassionate toward his hindrance had to score him accordingly.
Giving him the lowest total with 17/30. I hope people vote to give him a chance at redemption.
Chynna & Tony Based on last week's performance all of the judges expected her to blow the Jive right out of the water.
Instead they were disappointed with a subdued performance. I actually agree with all 3 for once. I think a little bit more content could have helped to make it better. 21/30.
Nancy & Tristan for the record I still find her extremely annoying but I have to give her props for a really good effort with her Quickstep. Bruno found it vivacious.
Len was quite happy with the proper technical aspects of the dance (which earned them the only 8 for the night from him).
Carrie Ann unlike Len would have enjoyed a bit more flare to the traditional they performed. But really likes them as a team. Whereas I simply enjoy Tristan on his own. 21/30.
J.R. & Karina had the most energetic Jive of the night (and right on point speed-wise). While Bruno was extatic. Carrie Ann felt the need to take off a point for a lift *rollseyes*.
Len just thought it was too much like the Lindy Hop. I thought it was an awesome way to close the show, and should have gotten a higher score then 22/30.
I must say had a really hard time predicting who would head home tomorrow based on scores it would be too obvious (and I really hope Chaz stays). So I'm going with David or Rob.

DWTS 13: Week 1 Viennese Waltz & Cha Cha
Here we go again. The start of yet another season of DWTS. I got particularly excited about this one after I saw the list of celebs. And first impressions certainly didn't disappoint tonight.
Won't bother with the judges comments & scores this time we'll leave that for next week. If you want that you'll have to rely on Google, otherwise enjoy my general observations instead ;).
One more thing before I get on with pair impressions, I must say I absolutely love the huge glittery set including the new and improved raised floor. Nice way to freshen things up ABC ;).
Ron Artest (NBA star) & Peta Murgatroyd (one of the new dancers this season) were up first with the Cha Cha. Total disaster.
He may be great on the basketball court but the dude has no rhythm tough debut for Peta.
Although to be fair we've seen worse first night performance flame-outs over the years so who knows.
Still he could be the one to go home first tomorrow. Though personally I'm hoping for someone else more on that later.
Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke followed with the Viennese Waltz. While it was certainly an improvement over the opening dance it was still not a performance to get overexcited about.
I don't expect any of the celebs to be absolutely great right out of the gate, week one is always the one with the most jitters.
But people with natural dance talent have stood out in past seasons, as was the case with some tonight as well. Rob unfortunatetly wasn't one of them.
His Viennese Waltz came off very stiff (no doubt due to major nerves). I didn't really see any charisma either. He'll have to let go of his inhibitions a little more if he wants to make it further then his sister.
He does have some potential with a little more tough training from Cheryl he could get better. We'll see how he does in week 2 if he survives.
Kristin Cavallari (actress) & Mark Ballas danced a decent Cha Cha. Definitely another contestant whom if she relaxes a bit more could be great.
She's tall with long arms and legs which works well for slow ballroom dances. I hope she makes it a bit further so that I can see whether I'm right.
I think Mark pretty much made up for any exuberance she may have lacked (although she looked pretty comfortable herself).
Boy was on fire!. Lots of lovely MJ inspired moves. Also glad to see he let his hair grow out some, bold Mark was just weird looking. He has always had an awesome head of hair.
Chynna Phillips (singer) & Tony Dovolani danced a surprisingly fluid Viennese Waltz. Truly one of the hardest to perform first night out imho. It was very graceful and elegant.
Interestingly I noticed that the majority of the celebs that had this style did particularly well.
While the Cha Cha seemed to be the downfall for the rest.
Tony may actually have shot at title with this one (and I know I probably said that last season (?) but I really think this could be Tony's year to hold up that trophy.
Would be about damn time too! We shall wait and see.
Nancy Grace & Tristan MacManus came out next with an unconvincing Cha Cha. Tristan is another new addition to DWTS. Can I just say how much I love the man's scottish accent? ♥♥♥.
Nancy Grace wasn't impressed however and felt the need to correct/point out his mispronunciations. First rule of teacher/student relationship Nancy, never correct the instructor!. Especially when they're hot! ;).
Her dislike of Tristan's accent pretty much equeled my dislike of her entire uninspiring dance routine. While I admire older celebs who go out and give their best there was honestly nothing exciting about her personality or her performance.
The whole thing came off really boring (at least to this average viewer watching at home).
If I had to pick the first person to get the boot tomorrow I would put her on the top of the list.
David Arquette & Kym Johnson one of the 3 pairings I was most excited about (Chaz & Ricky being the other 2).
Though the scores may not have reflected it David came out and danced a superb Viennese Waltz (like I said it really was the dance of the night for all who attempted it).
I know it's still very early but we may have to dub him the new Mr. twinkle toes (step down Hines!) I expected David to be lot more nervous, and kind of flounder on the floor. But he was the complete opposite of that.
Except for a small slip up he was right on point. He was wonderfully confident and enthusiastic. It was a real joy watching him almost effortlessly glide across the floor (and this in week 1!).
I think Kim got a good one again this year!. Hope he stays I wanna see what else he can do!.
Elisabetta Canalis (model) & Val Chmerkovskiy not a bad debut for Maks's little brother. And boy, they certainly look alike!. Still prefer Maks's more rugged exterior though.
I'm not sure what was more fun, or I should say funny. The dancing, or their bickering in rehearsal I'm going with the latter (Russian and Italian what a combo! :D).
Something tells me the language barrier will provide for a lot more laughs in the coming weeks.
Although since her Cha Cha left a lot to be desired I doubt we'll be seeing her for the long haul (she may be the other one in danger of getting kicked off).

I'll say this what the man lacks in his dancing he makes up for with flamboyant enthusiasm. Like Cloris Leachman he could make it a few weeks on entertainment value alone!.
I'm not sure the Cha Cha was his thing but a big part of me wants to see what he would do with something like the Viennese Waltz, that and I really wanna see just how many glittery outfits he has left in his closet ;D.
So I hope he stays as well.
J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnof performed another lovely Viennese Waltz. Putting him down as another possible early contender. Good dancer, and quite expressive emotionally.
Two most important qualities of any dancer (ones that have immensely helped past champs). If he continues to improve that could carry him far.
Derek Hough & Ricki Lake One of two couples with the most chemistry (Chaz & Lacey being 2nd). Also the second best Viennese Waltz of the night.
I knew if there was anyone who could teach a former talk show host to dance it would be Derek. Very emotionally driven. These 2 would be on my list of possibly making it all the way to the end.
Curious to see how she'll do with a Latin dance. Hope she gets the chance to try it.
Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer I think I'm going to amend my earlier statement and say that these 2 come in first on the chemistry front.
Chaz and Lacey really are the perfect match, I think her at times unconventional style will suit him well should he go further (and I so hope he does!).

I'm not sure the Cha Cha was his thing but a big part of me wants to see what he would do with something like the Viennese Waltz, that and I really wanna see just how many glittery outfits he has left in his closet ;D.
So I hope he stays as well.
J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnof performed another lovely Viennese Waltz. Putting him down as another possible early contender. Good dancer, and quite expressive emotionally.
Two most important qualities of any dancer (ones that have immensely helped past champs). If he continues to improve that could carry him far.
Derek Hough & Ricki Lake One of two couples with the most chemistry (Chaz & Lacey being 2nd). Also the second best Viennese Waltz of the night.
I knew if there was anyone who could teach a former talk show host to dance it would be Derek. Very emotionally driven. These 2 would be on my list of possibly making it all the way to the end.
Curious to see how she'll do with a Latin dance. Hope she gets the chance to try it.
Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer I think I'm going to amend my earlier statement and say that these 2 come in first on the chemistry front.
Chaz and Lacey really are the perfect match, I think her at times unconventional style will suit him well should he go further (and I so hope he does!).
Chaz's smile and charisma lit up the dance floor during his Cha Cha.
As did his "give it my all" attitude. He may not be the best, but he certainly has the potential to become it. I hope people give him the chance to do so. Can you tell they're the ones I'm really rooting for? *LOL*.

DWTS 13 Cast and partners revealed!
The participating professionals and the celebrities with whom they would partner were announced during the August 31 Good Morning America broadcast.
Granted, none of the names are complete unknowns to fans of Dancing with the Stars.
Two of the new professionals, Peta Murgatroyd and Tristan McManus, appeared sporadically last season as members of the DWTS Troupe.
This season, they have moved up to partnering with celebrities. The third new name, Val Chmerkovskiy, is the brother of DWTS mainstay Maksim and has performed on the show himself in the past.
The other nine professionals are veterans of Dancing with the Stars.
With the exception of Derek Hough, who took a break this past spring, the returning professionals all appeared on season 12 of the show.
The official Dancing with the Stars season 13 pairings are:
At first glance, there definitely seem to be some power couples going on here:
Of course, this is nothing more than idle speculation until we see some performances from the stars and their partners. Until then, however, let the speculation begin!.

- Reigning champion Kym Johnson has pulled David Arquette -- arguably the most famous of the celebrities -- as a partner.
- Maksim Chmerkovskiy, widely believed to be due for a win, has a good chance with Hope Solo, provided that the girl has charisma to go with athleticism.
- Derek Hough might actually have a chance at a fourth win, dancing with Ricki Lake. The lady has more charisma and performance ability that you can shake a stick at.
