When You Find the One....
Well I was a slick midwestern gal
On a long hard road into southern cal
Didn't find any crime fillin' up all my time
I had the devil in my bones and an angel on my mind
And I drank up all the movies and I searched for happy endings
I turned love inside out till I was perfectly pretending
Still I believed it could be true
That when you find the one
There's no question in the silence
All is said and done when you find the one
When you find the one
Yeah you could say that I was crazy I was that kinda girl
I had to open up a lot of oysters before I found myself a pearl
I had to kiss a lot of frogs to find my grass was green enough
Had to be face down in the gutter to see what is and isn't love
Then I woke from all the dreaming to your taste and to your laughter
I cried till I was dry and now live my ever after
I believe I always knew
When you find the one
There's no question in the silence
All is said and done when you find the one
When you find the one
And when you make the choice to believe in your existence
With hello you will know when you find the one
I believe it could be true
Yes I believe I always knew
And I believe it could be true
And believe i always knew
When you find the one
There's no question in the silence
All is said and done when you find the one
And when you make the choice to believe in your existence
With hello you will know when you find the one
With hello you will know

Being a hopeless romantic I love listening to songs that capture that feeling without being overly sappy. This song is just that.

TTSCC uncertain future?
Question: How bad are the ratings for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles? -- Dean
Aussiello: Armageddon-like? An SCC insider tells me that if the show's numbers don't start to climb, Fox is unlikely to order any additional episodes beyond the 13 currently in the pipeline. At Saturday's EW pre-Emmy bash, Thomas Dekker remained hopeful that they could hold off doomsday at least until the end of football season. "We're up against Monday Night Football," he sighed, "which is tricky because we have a lot of football fans."
EW.com
This so not good!. Seriously, why is it that there are shows currently on the air that are absolutely dreadful, and yet continue to stick around for years on end *cough Desperate Housewives, Lost cough* and great shows like this one are never given a chance to develop.
It just pisses me off!.
I guess I should have seen this coming (or perhaps not have gotten my hopes up) given FOX's track record.
The network executives need to wake up and put the show on another night, Sunday would be my suggestion. And by the looks of it they better do it fast!.
The optimist in me is keeping my fingers crossed for now, but the pessimist in me has a feeling the fans will have to start a save Sarah Connor Chronicles campaign soon.
This is partly why I no longer enjoy checking out (or get invested) in new shows, because there's always that chance that as soon as I start to like it, it will be given the axe.
Which sadly seems to happen way too often these days*sigh*.

Taylor Hanson and wife to become parents of baby no. 4!!
Ok, I was only joking when I said the Hanson brothers were looking to break their dad's record on the number of kids (that number being 7). But it looks like they're well on their way.
The band's middle brother Taylor and his wife Natalie exclusively announced to People that they are indeed expecting their 4th child!. This will in fact make it baby number 7 all together.
These guys are an unstoppable force in the baby department, hell at this point I could start a whole new blog on this subject alone! *lol*.
I had to chuckle at Zac's second bus comment, I think at the rate Tay is going you're gonna need a third!.
In all seriousness now congrats to Taylor and Natalie on their new bundle of joy :).

Eliza Dushku "Nurses" pilot
In March of last year I mentioned a little show on the FOX network called Nurses starring Eliza Dushku.
I've actually been wondering whatever happened to that show, but with all the excitement, agonizing and nail biting over Dollhouse it sort of slipped my mind till today.
Sadly the show never made it into tv-land, but it turns out a pilot was made and thanks to the wonder that is YouTube (and a tip by the good folks at Whedonesque) you can check out the entire thing.
I am off to do just that. Unfortunately there is no embed available for the video so you'll have to click on the link.

Song of the moment: Fisher- The Lovely Years
Such a great song, every time I hear it, it takes me back to those fun care-free times in life (minus running around on the lawn with the sprinklers on I didn't have those growing up).
There's no official video for this song unfortunetely thus the images from Peter Pan (sorry).

TTSCC and BSG worlds collide
Looks like everyone (with the exception of Sarah) is getting a love interest on the Sarah Connor Chronicles this season.
Australian actress Stephanie Jacobsen (best known for her role as Kendra Shaw on Battlestar Galactica's TV movie "Razor") is joining the fight as yet another resistance fighter who gets close to Derek Reece (Brian Austin Green), sounds good to me!.
I loved this actresses performance in "Razor" and I can't wait to see what she'll bring to TTSCC, hopefully some better ratings!.
Seriously, if you haven't watched the show yet, please give it a chance because it really is quite good, and it would be a shame to see another awesome FOX show die a premature death.
Let's break the FOX cancellation curse people!.

Martina Hingis nostalgia, Liverpool Exhibition Event
Ok, I admit it I've been slacking off a bit with the posts this month. But I'm back today with a real treat for all the Martina Hingis fans out there (at least I think so).
Back in June of this year, I blogged about Martina's Liverpool Exhibition match against Jana Novatna and I included some nice pics to go with it.
Well, now I have something a hundred times better thanks to hingis.org I was able to find video from the event. So here it is in three parts, enjoy ;).
Seriously how much fun is this to watch?, usually when you watch a tennis match it's all very reserved with both players not displaying much emotion until the end of a point (or in most cases not at all).
But with this being an exhibition, both of them were completely relaxed, teasing each other, before during, and after almost every point.
I'm not sure what was more fun, the mutual teasing or the constant interaction with the crowd. The extreme respect (due to a long history with one another) didn't hurt the atmosphere either.
This is a side of Martina that all the fans know and love, goofing around, making jibes, and glib comments, having loads of fun on court, at the same time able to remain very focused and fiercely competitive throughout.
It's a side rarely demonstrated by the current players of the WTA. Demonstrating those human emotions and reactions at all times is what still sets her apart from all the other competitors (and the reason why I just haven't been able to feel as passionate about any of the up and coming tennis athletes).
The nostalgia really set in as I watched Hingis make all those crafty flawless volleys at the net, *sigh* I miss the days when no one had heard of the Williams sisters and the power game was virtually none existent.
Sadly with the departure of Justine Henin volleying and net attacking has basically become a thing of the past, a dying art really.
Every time I watch Hingis play it reminds me why I fell in love with this sport in the first place, and why no matter how much time passes (and how many new faces emerge) I will always miss her on the tour.

Oprah does Skype?!
While reading pamie.com I came across her Oprah post and felt compelled to write my own response.
I actually remember seeing Oprah talking to the aforementioned woman during the show's premiere week and thinking, wow either that's a really crappy satellite connection or the people in the control room are really slacking off.
But it turned out to be much worse then that, yup Oprah was using Skype!.
Now you're thinking so what? everyone uses it these days (hell I use it myself to communicate with family), but this is OPRAH it's not like she couldn't have used oh, I don't know... a satellite!.
I'm all for demonstrating Internet savvy, but I think there are much better ways then talking to your guests in pixelated form ( as Pamie pointed out). And let's face it, it's not like she can't afford it *snort*.
Also I think I should be clear about the fact that I am so not an Oprah fan, important issues are all well and good, but I can only take so much of those in one day much less an hour.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I need a little laughter now and again, which is why The Ellen Degenerous Show is more my cup of tea.
With that said I would take Oprah doing her usual spiel over the horror that was Skype chat.
As an occasional Skype user I thought I would also take this opportunity to say how much it sucks!. Seriously, I've never known a more frustrating chat program in my life.
And boy, do I wish my family would realize the same and, use something more reliable like Google Talk ( yes they do chat now) or Windows Messanger for instance.
I thought that when ebay bought Skype they would wise up and invest in more servers. I guess not.
Unfortuntely since my family are all big fans of Skype I will not be escaping it any time soon and therefore, be forced to suffer through more pixelation, time delays and bad audio along with Oprah and her entire television audiance *sigh*.

TTSCC 2x01 Behind the scenes Crashing Cameron
This was one of many great action sequences from last night's 2nd season premiere.
A friend and I were both wondering just how Summer pulled this particular scene off.
This video provides the answer.
Do not watch if you have not seen the premiere since this is a bit spoiler-y.

Sarah Connor Chronicles season 2 impressions
Now that's what I call a season premiere!. Boy, the cast members weren't kidding when they said this season would be intense right from the start. I don't know if intense is even the right word, explosive is more like it!.
In fact there was so much going on that I don't know where to start, my brain is still in processing mode, so you'll have to excuse me if my thoughts seem a bit jumbled.
First off I think I should mention all the car chasing and car crashing action, how AWESOME was that!. I felt like I was actually watching one of the Terminator films, and that wasn't even the best part. Honestly, I can't recall seeing this much action in a t.v. show since Alias.
Before I go on to the episode itself I have to applaud both Lena and Summer for very commending performances on both sides. You can definitely tell they've really got a handle on their characters despite the fact we're only in episode 10.
I will not be doing a play by play because I figure there are plenty of other sources for that, if you just wanna read a re-cap of the ep. The Sarah Connor Society for example, I will focus on what I liked about the ep and my overall impressions instead.
One of the first things I noticed last night was the tone of the show, we are definitely headed toward a much darker show this season which I think is great. I also really liked the interplay of action and emotion showcased in this ep.
The conflict between John and Sarah and John and Cameron. With Sarah realizing that she's slowly loosing him (to adulthood) and some might say to Cameron herself.
I will admit that bathroom scene with John and Sarah had me a little teary-eyed. Btw. I'm still pissed that Lena was snubbed by the Emmy voters I think she deserved to at least be nominated.
Back to John and Cameron for a minute, there are all kinds of theories floating around the net pertaining the scene where she tells him she loves him. Some people think it's real, that Cameron is capable of real love being a completely new model and all.
Personally I think it was all a ploy to get him to stop removing the chip and nothing more. Because let's face it no matter how advanced Cameron is still a machine and will always be one.
Then there are the questions surrounding Ellison and Chromarti, now that we know why he spared Agent Ellison will he be able to lure him on to the dark side and help him get to Sarah and John? or will Ellison remain strong and devoted to his faith?.
Speaking of faith that seems to be a big theme for a lot of the characters this season, it'll be interesting to see where they're going with that.
But the best part of the night came at the very end, show of hands for those who did not see the end coming with Shirley Manson's character, that was a total shocker! (btw. shape-shifting into a urinal, totally genius!..... and a little gross).
And what an auspicious way to begin your first ever acting gig, playing one of the most famous villain characters of the Terminator franchise.
Things are certainly getting complicated for Sarah and John not only do they have to be on the look-out for Chromarti, but now there's an even bigger threat with what looks like a more advanced model of the T-1000.
All of this makes you wonder exactly how Charlie Dixon and Derek Reece fit into the over-all scheme of things.
At this point there are more questions then answers but one thing is for sure, I can't wait to see next week!.
If this show manages to maintain the same level of action, emotion and intensity throughout the season then it'll undoubtedly be the best one yet!.

Song of the moment: Alice Smith-Dream
I am completely addicted to this song at the moment, though I do prefer the album version for some reason the live performance doesn't do it justice, which is strange because usually it's the exact opposite.
I'm sure there's a better live version out there, but since I'm just too lazy to look, I recommend the album version of this song. L Word fans should be quite familiar with this tune as well ;).

I was sure the Comic-Con promo would be the last one before the premiere, but Fox thought otherwise and released another teaser equally as intriguing. Enjoy ;).

Evan Rachel Wood in "The Wrestler"
The 20-year-old actress plays estranged daughter Stephanie to Randy “Ram” Robinson (Mickey Rourke), a retired professional wrestler.
Source:http://justjared.buzznet.com/2008/09/05/evan-rachel-wood-lanvin/
Sounds like another interesting role, but then what character isn't when it comes to her.
One thing I've learned from following her films is that the characters she plays are always guaranteed not to be dull. So I'm looking forward to this new offering.
Quite a change in the hair department too. I definitely prefer it to the brunette look, red seems more natural. Wonder how long she will keep it.

Strong Enough To Break.......
I don't feel myself today
Just a figure in a big monopoly game
Struggle is the price you pay
You get just enough just to give it away
I'm sinking but I'm floating away
Throw me a line so I can anchor my pain
The fabric is about to fray
The fabric is about to fray
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Been running through my mind today
Scenarios to add to your hypocrisy
No one ever takes the blame
But everyone is searching for a cure to the pain
Nothing ever seems to change
Oh, nothing ever seems to change
We just play like broken records in a deaf man's charade
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Carry on just a pawn and the same old song
I'm still holding on
The fabric is about to fray
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in

I start feeling I'm strong enough

This song was the result of the band's struggles with the record label (Island Deaf Jam) and the subsequent split. Perhaps that's why it's particularly well written and one I really relate to.

Song of the moment: Roxette- Crash, Boom, Bang
This is one of their lesser played tunes, but it's an absolute favourite of mine. I guess I'm just a sucker for those big pop ballads.
It's probably why my love for this band has not faltered over the years.
