Song of the moment: Cyndi Lauper & Sarah Mclachlan-Time After Time
It just doesn't get better then these 2 singers performing one of my all time faves.
I fell even more in love with this tune after hearing this callaboration on Sarah Mclachlan's B-Sides, Rarities and Other Stuff Vol. 2.
For anyone who doesn't have this CD I totally recommend it, it's full of great duets.
You gotta love how Sarah keeps her fans interested by releasing rare tracks like the one above.
In fact I wish more singers would do the same, so that there isn't such a long drought between each new album (yes I'm thinking of you Shania Twain).

More T:TSCC @ Comic-Con
Movieweb.com has interviews with the cast of Sarah Connor Chronicles, minus Lena Heady :(.
The videos contain lots of spoiler-y bits on the new season, so be sure to check it out.
Also hop on over to JustJared for some great photos from the panel as well.
For the people who simply cannot get enough of this kick-ass show (and it's cast and creators).
You can watch the entire T:TSCC Comic-Con Panel courtesy of the Sarah Connor Society blog.

"Bones" @ Comic-Con
Yep, more stuff from San Diego this time on a show I don't mention very often for some reason even though it is an absolute fave, Bones.
I found a couple of spoiler-filled reports from the Comic-Con Bones Panel that I thought I would share.
The first one is (once again) from EW.com and the second from TV Squad which includes some nice pics.
But where the heck is Dr. Brennan herself (Emily Deschanel)?. Guess she was busy solving crimes in the lab.
The most important tid-bit to take away from both articles?.
"This year, Booth (Boreanaz) and Brennan (Deschanel) will be in bed together naked".Whoo-hoo!, Booth and Brennan fans rejoice! ;) ( and it better not be some kind of dream sequence damn it).
For anyone eagerly awaiting the 4th season premiere of Bones don't forget the 2-hour premiere airs September 3rd on FOX.

Joss Whedon, Eliza Dushku @ Comic-Con
Just a couple of videos I found of Joss, Eliza and Tahmoh Penikett (of Battlestar Galactica fame) discussing Dollhouse.
The second vid is a little hard to understand at times due to background noise, but you still get the jist of it.
And if that isn't enough go to EW.com to watch another awesome pre-Comic-Con video interview of all three.
I can already tell Tahmoh and Eliza will work well togather, they have great chemistry.

Just for fun some "Dollhouse" spoilers
Here is a little something to tie you over until the Dollhouse Comic-Con panel stuff starts trickling in.
It's an article definitely worth a read (no worries it doesn't give too much away).
I'm sure I've said this before but, I can't wait to see another Joss Whedon creation on my t.v.
Roll on 2009!!.

Meet Shepherd Hanson
People.com has a video of Zac Hanson and his family. Little John Ira Shepherd is awfully cute. Shame about the hair though Zac.
The fact that Zac is officially a father makes me feel so old!! *LOL*. I still remember him as the 11-year-old who was always annoying his brothers. Time really does fly. Can't wait for those pics to hit the news stands!.

I heart this song, and for once the video is not half bad either.

"Caprica" trailer revealed
Ever since becoming a fan of Battlestar Galactica a couple of years ago, I've been really excited about this series.
For those who don't know Caprica is a prequel to Battlestar Galactica (the 2003 version that is) made by the same man who tried to revive Wonder Woman (David Eick).
Although that show really didn't work out BSG has always been solid and, if the above trailer is anything to go by Caprica promises the same thing.
I would like to know when exactly this show is supposed to start, so if anyone has info on the subject feel free to leave a comment.

Joss Whedon/Eliza Dushku Dollhouse Promo
I'm sure all of you Dollhouse fans have already seen this, but I decided to post it anyway for those who may have missed it or may not be aware of it.
Plus let's face it, Joss and Eliza = too damn cute and funny to ignore;).

Song of the moment: Roxette-Listen to your Heart
Yet more 80's songs 'cause let's face it this decade had the best music....well most of it anyway. This song was definitely in the best category.

Song of the moment: Melanie C.-I Turn To You
I used to be a huge fan of dance music, I don't enjoy it as much these days (due to changing tastes), but this one is an exception.

Song of the moment: Melanie C.-Carolyna
Yes, I admit it back in the mid-nineties I got caught up in the Spice Girls craze, actually they remain one of my guilty pleasures.
Out of all the girls Mel C. has always been my favourite, mainly because she can really sing.
Listening to songs from her latest album (which includes the one above) it's really not hard to see why she's had the most success going solo.

Song of the moment: The Cardigans-Live and Learn
I know what you're thinking, finally something a little more current! *lol* I've always liked this band they have had some awesome songs over their career and this one is definitely one of them.
I first heard it on Grey's Anatomy, that show has one great music supervisor.

Isaac Hanson becomes a dad for the 2nd time!
Big congratulations to Isaac and his wife Nikki, who on July 1st welcomed another son into their ever expending family.
James Monroe Hanson (I don't know about that name James has a much better ring to it but that's me), joins 1 year old brother Everett, and his cousin's Penelope, Ezra, River (who all belong to brother Taylor).
And the most recent edition Zac Hanson's pride and joy Shepherd born this past May. Man!, that's a mouth-full *LOL*.
In fact with so many names I thought it was best not to also include the kids first names (it's confusing enough as it is *lol*).
I've never really understood the whole first name tradition, why bother with a first name if you're just gonna use all the kids middle names instead.
And I guess Nikki was further along then I thought. With so many kids already (and more in the near future no doubt, there are 4 other Hanson sibling after all), time will tell whether the kids are as musically inclined as their parents.
One thing is for certain the Hanson's are not going away anytime soon!.

Song of the moment: Bonnie Tylor-Total Eclipse of the Heart
"(Turn around) every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you're never coming round
(Turn around) every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears
(Turn around) every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
(Turn around) every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes ......
Once upon a time I was falling in love, but now I'm only falling apart
There's nothing I can do... a total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time there was light in my life, but now there's only love in the dark
Nothing I can say... a total eclipse of the heart"

Just another 8o's classic, 'cause you can never have too many;). Once again the video is a complete wash-out, but the song is awesome.

Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2 spoilers
An interesting tid-bit on our favourite Terminator, Cameron Philips from creator Josh Friedman:
"I think sometimes [Cameron does have a sense of her own sexuality] when it suits her. Last year she learned how to paint her nails, and she's learned how to wear miniskirts and exploit her legs for attention... I think if there were somebody else in John's life that could cause strategic problems, I think that's almost like jealousy, and she would work to eliminate that threat. I think we may see some of that this year".
Well I guess we finally have an answer as to what role one of the new cast members will play this season.
A jealous Cameron... yeah I'm thinking John's new girlfriend will eventually be running for the hills *lol*.
And I guess it looks like they will play the John/Cameron attraction thing to some extent, but I'm still hoping they don't go all the way.
From the short statement given by Summer Glau it makes you wonder what other changes are in store for the character, and more importantly how does Sarah fit into all of it?.
Roll on September 8th!.

Martina Hingis dating again?
hingis.org
Hmmm... could this be Hingis's latest new beau?. Certainly much better looking then the past predecessors.
And it's nice to see her with a younger guy for once (gotta admit he is very cute). Apparently he's an Irish rider, guess she give up on dating an athlete after the last disaster.
Good to see her looking happy as well, I wish her the best of luck, if she is in fact in a relationship. May it last longer then the last one did ;-).

Song of the moment: Goo Goo Dolls-Iris
"...And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything is made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am .....
And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything seems like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you are alive "
This late 90's tune is an absolute favourite what can I say, great songs never get old.

Bon Voyage
They always say that sorry is the hardest word (there's even a song about it) but I think goodbye ranks right up too.
I hate having to say goodbye doesn't matter whether it's a friend or family member. It makes things so much more difficult of course if it is a family member.
We drove my brother-in-law back to the airport yesterday (he's heading home to Poland after staying with us in Canada on vacation the last couple of weeks).
The ride to the airport was horrendous, not so much due to the traffic on the road (although that didn't help), but because the car was so awkwardly quiet.
All of us were off in our own little world, with thoughts racing a mile a minute.
The closer we got to the airport the more quiet things became. As we neared baggage check in and the security area, it became more and more difficult to hold in the tears.
My dad and I managed to rein in our emotions (although I did start to break-down as we started to hug). It was especially tough with both my niece and sister looking teary.
I always find the hardest part is walking away from the airport, knowing that every step you take, gets you further and further away from the person who's leaving.
What softened the blow this time was the knowledge that my niece and sister were not the ones leaving yet.
It also made me realize that as difficult as this goodbye had been, saying goodbye to them will be a hundred times worse.
But for the time being I'm going to stop thinking such gloomy thoughts and enjoy the time we have.

Family festivities
Well, the family and I (sans mom who was sick) went out to celebrate Canada's Birthday yesterday.
Met up with a friend I haven't seen in a while, fun was had by all. Here's a few pics of the happy family.
We took some pics of the fireworks show that was going on as well (for which we waited an eternity!, ok 15 extra minutes but still).
Unfortunately I haven't yet figured out the camera setting for taking good night photos, so those didn't turn out too well.
Luckily, we were able to make a video instead, enjoy;-).
