SAG goes "Speechless" on behalf of WGA

In an effort to bring the writers strike to a close the Writers Guild of America (WGA) in collaboration with Screen Actors Guild (SAG) created the Speechless campaign.

Bringing together the most famous A listers in Hollywood and putting them in a commercial of sorts. Here are a few of my favourites:

The Holly Hunter one is my absolute favourite purely for the geek factor;).

As for how effective these will be, nobody knows. But personally I'm hoping it helps to penetrate the brains of all those Executives and CEO's making them realize just how important writers really are.

For all those wondering how they can help (as fans) here are a couple of ways:

Zac Hanson to become a dad!

Zac with wife Kate

Well, the Hanson clan keeps on expending. It was announced today that Zac and his wife are expecting their first child in May.

When I joked about this back in June (when Isaac became a father), saying that Zac was next in line I really didn't think it would happen so fast lol.

And I thought they weren't in a hurry to become parents. Guess I was wrong. Either that or it was an unexpected surprise, I'm going with the latter.

Oh, and I had to laugh at Kate saying it's the most romantic thing they've ever done (creating a baby). Yeah, wait until those 3am feedings Kate, it'll take the word 'romance' right out of the equation lol.

So this makes it baby #5, and the eleventh family member overall. I'm starting to think the Hanson's are trying to give the Osmond's a run for their money LOL.

BRRR

Winter is officially here, can't say that I'm thrilled since I'm not fond of the white stuff. Although I'm actually surprised it didn't come sooner.

So far not much snow but plenty of freezing rain. Once again I am beyond glad I didn't have to be anywhere in particular today.

It's funny how when you are an adult you absolutely dread snow, but when you are a child you just can't wait for it to arrive. Ah, to be a kid again....

Billie Jean King stands by Hingis

With all the negative press around Hingis these days, it's good to see there are still some sports professionals who believe and support her. Last week it was Roger Federer and this week it's the legendary Billie Jean King.

"It just doesn't make sense... it's just not her,"
"She was going to retire anyway. I do believe Martina Hingis. If she says she hasn't taken it, I believe it".

Thank you! that is exactly what I have been saying since this whole drug thing got started. And I'm sticking with it.

"Maybe she went out to a party... and others had dope around and leave it on tables and if you get it on your hands and maybe you ingest it and you don't even know. There are so many possibilities now. It's just not in Hingis's character".
Again I completely agree, it's something that is so logical and yet no one has pointed this out. Instead they continue to focus on the negative and already labeling Hingis as guilty.

"Characters are revealing and I think it's great she came out first and took it head on. That's a pretty good sign too as a lot of players always wait (for an official announcement) and she thought to heck with it. That was smart."
Yes and I give her complete props for that but sadly many saw that as suspicious, I'm still not sure why. I saw that as Hingis being true to character as Billie points out.

Anyway, good to see some positive comments once again (especially from someone of such high sports stature), and I'm sure Hingis will certainly appreciate them.

Dancing with the Stars perfect cure for Monday blues

Ok, so I've really gotten into this show over the past month blame it on the boredom that is Monday night. Last night was so great I felt compelled to share my thoughts.

Everyone brought their A game to the dance floor, even Marie Osmond. Who I was really surprised about, but I gotta give her credit she did some amazing dancing maneuvers. They all did so well in fact that the judges were throwing perfect scores around like it was confetti, but deservedly so.

One of my favourites Derrick and Jennie finally got a perfect score (yay!!), I have been waiting for her to show what she's made of and she proved it last night. Which is why I'm hoping they're one of the 3 couples that stay on to next weeks finale.

But I'm afraid that Marie Osmond's fan base might make it a little difficult hope all the Jennie Garth fans out there punch those phone buttons till their fingers bleed.

And if Max and Mel and Helio and Julianne don't make it through I am going to throw a fit, because those 2 couples are spectacular and it should really be a showdown between the four of them.

So that's who I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tonight, as much as I do like Marie I hope she's the one who gets the boot.

Who knows, if next year's celebrities are as impressive as these have been, I might add this show to my t.v. watching schedule.

ETA: I hate it when I'm right, I really wanted Jennie and Derrick to stay:(. Oh well, at least the 2 couples that deserve to be there are still in it. It is definitely going to be a competition between Helio and Mel B. I'm looking forward to next week!.

Hingis relationship roulette wheel keeps on spinning

Well, Martina Hingis's tennis career may have come to an abrupt halt, but it looks like her love life is heating up again. She's rumored to be involved with this guy:

hingis.org

Who looks like he could be her father. I get dating older guys I do, but that's a little much. I think I preferred her with Radek Stepanek (there's something I never thought I would say). I know nothing about this guy, except for the fact that he's very well off.

Oh well, as long as she's happy.... and although I wish her the best, I don't think this relationship will last very long either.
