The Amazing Race 14

Yep, CBS has produced another exciting season of my favourite reality show (which I still consider more of a game show really).

Tonight at 8 another 11 teams will set off across the globe for a chance to win a million bucks.

For me half the fun has always been learning about the teams, so here is an amusing profile sum-up of this year's contestants courtesy of theday.com.

Siblings Mark and Michael Munoz: They are short. This gives me great hope for some laughs at the ticket counters.

Siblings Tammy and Victor Jih: They both went to Harvard. Um ... yeah.

Siblings LaKisha and Jennifer Hoffman: They both played division 1 sports at a large southern university. This gives me great hope for some laughs with the short brothers.

Friends Christie Volkmer and Jodi Wincheski: They are blonde and flight attendants. Not US Airways Flight 1549-type flight attendants. More like The Girls Next Door/Hooters Air-type flight attendants.

Former NFL cheerleaders Cara Rosenthal and Jaime Edmondson: With the Miami Dolphins. This gives me great hope for a cheerleader/flight attendant smackdown.

Married couple Brad and Victoria Hunt: They are middle aged. That’s all I can tell so far.

Father and son Mel and Mike White: When Mike was 11, Dad announced he was gay. Mike wrote the screenplays for modern film classics Nacho Libre and School of Rock.

Married couple Linda and Steve Cole: They remind me of the coal miners a couple of seasons back. A girl can dream.

Dating couple Jennifer Hopka and Preston McCamy: They are the ones who are on and off, on and off. They will be annoying.

Dating couple Amanda Blackledge and Kris Klicka: They have never traveled. Like that matters.

Mother and son Margie and Luke Adams: Luke is deaf. Let’s just hope he keeps his fanny pack on his fanny. Unlike another mother/son team we know.

Oh, I can already tell lots of fun will be had. I don't want to jinx it, but this could be the most entertaining season yet.

Also apparently the theme song and graphics will be getting a tune-up this season as well (with Google Maps no less, thumbs up CBS).

Here is the route the teams will be following:

Start: Los Alamitos, California, United States

1. Stechelberg, Switzerland
2. Salzburg, Austria
3. Bran, Romania
4. Krasnoyarsk, Russia
5. Novosibirsk, Russia
6. Jaipur, India
7. Phuket, Thailand
8. Bangkok, Thailand
9. Gurlin, China
10. Beijing, China
11. Beijing, China

Finish: Maui, Hawaii, United States

Interesting the country legs are longer then usual, money saving move perhaps? (would make sense I guess with the world's economy being the way it is).

Definitely looking forward to Russia and Romania.
