Martina Hingis moves into 2nd round doubles at Rogers Cup

Tennis - Martina Hingis says playing no-ad as compared to the traditional deuce is the most significant change since the last time she played on tour.

The 32 year old is playing the second doubles tournament of her comeback after a six year gap on the tour. Hingis and partner Daniela Hantuchova advanced to the second round of the WTA Rogers Cup in Toronto on Tuesday with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Angelique Kerber and Petra Kvitova, 64 62.

Speaking after the win, Hingis commented, "When I played before there were no deuce points like there are now - you always had advantage and deuce. I think that's the biggest difference, those key points that are really important, that you have to be ready on and try to do your best, like 120%, not just like 50%. That's the big key. Today and in the two matches last week, for me that's the big difference - you have to be spot on."

HIngis and Hantuchova won their first match last week in Carlsbad before losing in the second round.
