Martina Hingis playing doubles at BNP Paribas Open

Tennis - The women's doubles draw for the BNP Paribas Open was released on Tuesday and the big surprise was the entry of former world no. 1 Martina Hingis, who has entered the draw with German Sabine Lisicki, who she has been coaching since the beginning of the season.

Hingis returned to play doubles in July last year with Slovak Daniela Hantuchova but did not have a successful comeback, winning only a handful of matches in 5 tournaments. She was supposed to play this season as well but had not entered any of the tournaments yet. There are no reports whether this is a one-off or more of a comeback.

The top seeds in the draw are Su-Wei Hsieh and Shuai Peng followed by Italians Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci.
